Access Statement for Clunton Farm Granary Self Catering Apartments

Introduction

Our holiday accommodation consists of two self-contained apartments, approached over a narrow bridge spanning a small brook, next to Clunton Farmhouse which is our home. The granary looks on to our fields. The majority of the access information applies to both apartments, where it differs the information will be dealt with in an individual section of this report.

Transport

  • There is a bus stop in the village opposite The Crown Pub
  • The railway station is in Craven Arms about 10 minutes drive by car
  • There is a taxi in the village that can be booked for you by prior arrangement with ourselves

Car Parking

  • Both our apartments have their own parking spaces next to the property
  • Our yard leading up to the apartments is large stone gravel, lit with movement sensitive lights

Arrival

Access to the apartments will be given by a family member situated in the house next door. Inside you will find tea, coffee (instant & fresh) sugar, milk and a homemade cake. All linen is supplied and the beds will be made up. No towels are supplied.

Both apartments are equipped with the following:

  • Kitchen utensils, crockery & pans and glasses for 6 people
  • Fridge/freezer, oven & hob with extractor fan, microwave, coffee machine
  • Washer/dryer, television, CD player/radio
  • The dining area has a table and six chairs
  • The sitting area has two sofas one of which converts to a double bed
  • The two double bedrooms each have twin beds and wardrobes and bedside tables
  • Night storage heaters in the living area, electric heaters in the bedrooms
  • Maps, books and local information folder

Both apartments are single storey and consist of two twin bedrooms, a kitchen/dining/ sitting area, and a shower room with airing cupboard. Floors throughout are oak boards, with the exception of the shower rooms which are ceramic tiles. Both have low beams in the living areas. Each has a self contained courtyard garden with a garden table and chairs

Downstairs

The downstairs apartment is approached up two steps 12cm & 17cm high respectively, and through a front door 89cm wide with a light at the side. This apartment also has double doors 101cm wide opening onto the courtyard garden, the step is 20cm high.

Upstairs

The upstairs apartment is approached up a flight of 13 stone steps, lit by two wall lights which can be switched on from the outside and the inside, and then through a front door 101cm wide. The garden for this apartment is approached down a wisteria covered walkway to the left of the property, through a wicket gate.

Pets

Although pets are welcome by prior arrangement, and as we have a large collection of animals ourselves, Horses, Donkeys, Sheep, Ducks a Cat and Dogs, we expect owners to be responsible for their pets behaviour including clearing up any mess. All our animals are friendly but should be treated with caution.

Additional Information

  • The granary is a non-smoking building.
  • Mobile phone reception is poor.
  • The apartments are available to rent all year around.
  • The Crown Pub serves excellent food, but booking is essential.
  • There is a post office, small shop & butchers shop in Clun.
  • There is a Doctors surgery in Clun.
  • There is a Vets surgery in Bishops Castle & Craven Arms.
